Hose Handling and Suppression
This course introduces training in hose handling, and fire suppression using large-volume, wheeled, dry-chemical extinguishers. The team approach to firefighting is an essential component of this intense training. The incident-command approach to fire ground management is also discussed.
The objectives for this course are to:
- Extinguish a pressurized-gas fire using a dry-chemical extinguisher
- Demonstrate proper hose-handling techniques using a 38-mm handline
- Use a handline to dispense foam solution to extinguish a Class B fire
An exam will be given covering the information presented during the knowledge segment and exercises, and students must achieve a grade of 70% to pass.
Prerequisite: Fire Extinguisher Level 2

Certifications: HSE certificate
